Jackie_kennedy_limo_2_1 Every time I see a picture of Audrey Hepburn or Jackie O, I'm reminded that true style transcends time. Here are some timeless classics that you can come back to time and again when you're wondering what to wear:

* Crisp white shirts * Trenchcoats * Black turtlenecks * Diamond studs * Cashmere sweaters * Glossy calfskin bags * Blazers in neutral colours * Black pantsuits * Pearls * Cuff bracelets *

If you want to skimp on how much you spend then follow these rules:

* Be fabric-savvy. Knits, microfibers and cotton-Lycra blends resist wrinkles, repel stains and save on dry-cleaning bills.

* Remember that less expensive fabrics look better in neutral shades like black and beige than in brights and pastels.

* Buy items in solid colors - you can get away with wearing them more often than items in arresting Hepburnsabrina_4 patterns.

* Avoid costly mistakes: Finding flattering pants can be a challenge, so if you find good ones, buy several pairs.

* Don't store clothes in dry cleaner's plastic bags; they trap moisture and solvent fumes.

Pearls possess a long standing role in bridal fashion, as pearl necklaces and matching earrings represent traditional wedding jewelry. Legendary brides that celebrated their day with pearl jewelry include Jacqueline Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth, Gloria Vanderbilt, and Grace Kelly.

Princess Elizabeth's bridal gown of ivory duchess satin featured a tight-fitting bodice with heart-shaped neckline, and long tight sleeves. The flowing full skirt and the court train were embroidered with thousands of pearls and crystals in an intricate floral pattern.

Pearls have often made for beautiful wedding gifts, as Princess Elizabeth received a double strand of pearls from her parents. The length of such necklaces can be adjusted to suit the wedding dress, through the use of a "pearl shortener" where the clasp is.

A bride should be careful to match her jewelry. A pearl necklace with matching earrings speaks volumes with a simple elegance that never goes out of style

Pearls have long been considered to best flatter a woman's skin. Light-tone pearls are suggested to fair-skinned brides and cream-tone pearls are recommended to those with darker skin
